The Satellite

In the Dreamtime, I received an invitation from Washington D.C. for a forum-lecture on space and technology. There were many facilities and I read the sandwich boards on all the entry ways to see which lecture would prove the most informative. My invitation limited me to just one forum, therefore I tried to be selective and discriminating.

The lecture I first attended turned out to be an overview with information on partnerships and cosponsors for the various projects. While that was interesting, it was not very informative about the innovations currently unfolding as of yet. I cut out of this forum rather early.

Since I gave the security guard my invitation, I couldn't gain entry to another forum without this document.  Luckily the forum about satellites was later that day and I had time to figure out my entry. I could not locate another document or resource to enter except that I recognized the same security guard that, fortunately, remembered me. "I'm sorry but I gave you my invitation for the wrong lecture..." He said it was no problem and let me in.

There in this size-able lecture hall the seats were descending theater style in a half circle. Present were the lot of physicists, technicians, biologists and those with scientific investments.  Then of course there was me.  As I sat down to listen to the lecture, I noticed to the left that there was an odd being or two sitting in the crowd. They seemed physically so different than us, but when I turned to look at them again they apparently shape-shifted into human form.

The lecture began with an imax theater like presentation. The ceiling and back stage wall also served as the screen. Projected was an image of a location in outer space. There I saw a satellite vessel that I was able to approach in some spirit like fashion. I actually could touch it as if I flew to it.  The presenter began to make factual sounding claims such as, " this apparatus pulses binary code transmitting 1000 messages per second!" I scoffed at this as I somehow knew that the messaging was more energetic and more extreme than this.

I felt I had heard enough. I did what I could to keep my cool, and focused on the metal rafters on the dome-like ceiling. The light moved across it in such a way that I noticed a spiderweb glisten for a second. I awakened.

The next day, I told a friend my dream, as I rested on my back on the deck in the backyard. While telling my dream, I looked at the sky...but something caught my eye. A perfect spiderweb glistened at the top of the cedar tree.
